Position title: Team Leader ( 2 Pst) (1 for Barawe and 1 For Ceel-Berde)

Reporting to: Project Coordinator

Location: Ceel-berde and Barawe -Somalia

Job summary:

Under the overall supervision of the project officer, the team leader is a member of the SOS health team and will be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of health project. By fostering effective leadership, communication, and collaboration, the Team Leader will contribute to positive health outcomes and lasting impact.

Job Responsibilities:

Main duties and Responsibilities:

• Developing and implementing health and nutrition programs aligned with organizational goals and community needs.

• Responsible for team plan movement and ensure all service package components of the project are delivered.

• Responsible for all quarterly supplies-related issues (In/Out & stock balance) & timely flag of shortage.

• Represent SOS for the necessary coordination meetings within the district during emergencies, planning, responding, and monitoring and other humanitarian related meetings conducted in the district.

• Ensure other team members are doing the correct tally, recording, registering, and filing.

• Ensures that Health and Nutrition interventions are utilized as per the standard protocols, policies, and guidelines of MoH and WHO.

• She/He specifically responsible for adults and under five-year medical consultation and nutrition service package and supported by the health workers.

• Verify, compile, and share complete timely reports to his/her line manager

• Early communicate any shortfalls (programmatic and administrative issues)

• Confirm the project team members are doing the correct tally, recording, registering, and filing.

• Collect data from the team members and share with project officer on weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.

• Supervise and evaluate the activities of the project and provide immediate feedback to the project staff as well as line managers.

• Providing strategic leadership and guidance to the team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.

• Monitoring and evaluating program effectiveness, identifying areas for improvement and adapting strategies based on data analysis.

• Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless program delivery and integration with other health initiatives.

• Representing the organization at relevant meetings, conferences, and community events, advocating for the importance of health and nutrition.

• Developing and maintaining strong partnerships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, community organizations, and healthcare providers.

• Performs other similar duties as assigned by the project officer.

Skills and qualifications
Essential

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Nutrition, Public Health, or a related field.

• At least 3 years of experience in health and nutrition program development, implementation, and evaluation.

• Proven leadership experience in managing and motivating teams.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and interpret data to inform program decisions.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences.

• Proficiency in using technology for program management, data analysis, and communication.

• Ability to inspire and motivate team members to achieve high performance.

• Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze situations and make sound judgments.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering trust and open communication within the team.

• Effective delegation and task management skills, ensuring work is assigned appropriately and completed on time.

• Ability to provide constructive feedback, coaching, and mentorship to team members to support their growth and development.

• Strong conflict resolution skills, with the ability to address challenges and disagreements effectively.

• Providing clear and concise instructions to team members.

• Building and maintaining positive relationships with community leaders and partners.
