JOB SUMMARY
The project officer will play a key role in ensuring that all project implementation is carried out effectively and in a timely manner in the target district and any other areas where Islamic Relief funding is covering in Middle Shabelle. The project assistant will be responsible for the implementation of Relief project activities and related FSL programs in the project area. The project assistant’s primary function is to assist the project officer in ensuring the quality of the planning, implementation, and follow-up of project activities.
SCOPE OF ROLE:
Carry out the day-to-day activities of the project in line with the project work plan formulated by the project officer in coordination with the project coordinator.
Assist in the coordination and implementation of all assigned project activities as outlined in the detailed implementation plan in line with IRW program quality principles and standards, donor requirements, and good practices.
Ensure target committee establishment with the respective villages.
Lead and coordinate the selection of beneficiaries for registration and distribution.
Ensure timely implementation of emergency responses for the beneficiaries.
Lead post-distribution assessment and monitoring of beneficiaries before the provision of second distributions.
Be involved in community mobilization, targeting, and monitoring of movement and distribution activities.
Conduct regular follow-up and joint close post-distribution monitoring on the proper use of cash for the intended purposes.
Verify and review targeted beneficiaries eligible for the provision of responses.
Support reporting, monitoring, and evaluation, ensuring that quality reports are submitted using standard project formats and in a timely manner.
Ensure smooth running of the project at the field level and share challenges and lessons learned with the supervisor.
Perform other duties of similar nature assigned by the supervisor or area office in charge.

Skills and Qualifications
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
University bachelor degree in relevant field social science, sociology, and community development.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
2 year of experience in similar fields in international, local organizations or UN agencies
Strong organizational skills and ability to lead a stream of work.
English and Somali language proficiency (speaking, reading, writing).
Proficiency with computers, especially MS Office.
