Job Description
The WASH Officer (Infrastructure Engineer) will work as part of the INTERSOM team, he/she will prepare BoQs and Designs, produce progress reports, ensure the quality of the infrastructures and closely monitor the ongoing WASH activities, participate in monitoring all the Infrastructure activities, and participate community mobilization of all activities in Kismayo.
SCOPE OF ROLE:
· Participate in conducting monitoring and evaluation for all Construction activities in Kismayo.
· Assist in planning the activities for projects; especially those related to water source construction and rehabilitation.
· Collect and analyze project data including preparation of graphs and visual data.
· Coordinate with the project manager/ to ensure that the various aspects of the WASH infrastructure activities are integrated.
· Supervise all construction activities.
· Prepare project training events in coordination with the project manager and trainers.
· Maintain good relationships in the line of communication with relevant line ministries, local authorities, and communities throughout the project.
· Liaise with the beneficiaries, community, and community leaders to coordinate the project activities.
· Carry out community mobilization of all project activities and ensure communities’ acceptance of the project inputs and enough collaboration granted at the field level
· Get initial approval from the Program manager/coordinator for all plans before commencement of project implementation.
· Regularly monitor the project progress at all its phases (project selection, designing, planning, and implementation).

Skills and Qualifications
· Minimum University bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
· Minimum 3 years of experience in the field of construction and infrastructure working with INGOs/NGOs.
· Strong English skills both oral and written.
· Good writing and reporting skills.
· Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
· Proficiency in computer-aided drawing skills.
· Proficiency with computers, especially MS Office and diagnostic scientific software.
