Organizational Background
GREDO is an indigenous local NGO. Non-profit non-partial, non- political and voluntary organization based in Baidoa. To reach the most affected grass-root communities in Bay, Bakool, lower Shebelle and Gedo Regions effectively and efficiently, the necessity of local partnership in relief program appeared. Responding to the partnership need, a group of Somali intellectuals and well-wishers initiated in December 1992 a local non-governmental organization called Gargaar Relief and Development Organization (GREDO) the organization has implemented during these period different projects including relief and emergency programs and later improved into rehabilitation and developmental programs.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To ensure that the Outpatient Therapeutic Programme and target Supplementary feeding programme operates effectively and efficiently to deliver optimal care to the beneficiaries
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
· To weigh and measure weight, height and check for presence of oedema of the beneficiaries in line with the training received
· To talk to and reassure the beneficiaries during the weighing and measuring process
· To register necessary children for the program (clearly explain to mother)
· For new or current beneficiaries, to record the measurements accurately on the beneficiary’s card
· To organize the measuring area appropriately
· To ensure there is adequate seating areas for the beneficiaries
· To attend team meetings on a regular basis
· To take part in nutrition surveys and assessments as required
· To undertake home visiting and active case finding as required
· To undertake other tasks as requested
Skills and Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
· Completed secondary education Excellent communication skills and a willingness to be respectful, kind, sensitive and empathize with all beneficiaries and their careers
· Willingness and capacity to be flexible and accommodating when faced with difficulties and frustrating working conditions
· Prepared to live and work in an uncertain security environment
· Ability and willingness to frequently travel and stay at the field
· Previous experience of working with humanitarian agencies
· Fluency in written and spoken English
Desirable
Experience of Health work and the design and implementation of Programs, including monitoring and evaluation.

The responsibilities of the post will require the post holder to have regular contact with children or young people and GREDO as an organization has a dignity of protecting and safeguarding children by giving awareness, protection reporting and taking actions.
