Enumerators for Data Collection for Pivot Assessment in 4 Districts
Background:
Centre for Peace and Democracy (CPD) is a Non-Profit, Non-Government Organization (NGO) registered in Somalia with the Federal Government and the various Regional Authorities in South and Central Somalia in the areas it operates. The organization has 5 operational offices in Mogadishu, Baidoa, Galkayo, Adado and Hobyo, with a liaison office in Nairobi, Kenya. The organization’s work spans across humanitarian, Governance and peacebuilding and development fields.
Presently, CPD intends to undertake a Pivot Assessment to inform on an ongoing peace and social cohesion project (Nabadoon Reconciliation Activity). Nabadoon Project is planning to conduct Pivot assessment on 30th September 2024. The pivot assessment will be undertaken in the 4 Districts of Warsheikh, Afgooye, Barawe and Jowhar.
CPD is therefore looking for 16 Enumerators to carry out this exercise (4 Enumerators per District). The enumerator’s role will be responsible for collecting quantitative data in their respective districts and for qualitative data collection using the phones installed with Kobo Collect app. The exercise will take 5 days (in each District). The enumerators will also hold Focus Group Discussions with beneficiaries from the assessment identified samples.
CPD Obligations will be to:
Facilitate the enumerator to download the Kobo App on their phones for data collection.
Facilitate 1 day training for the enumerators on the tools (KII, FGD and Household interviews).
Pay a competitive stipend for the 5 days (1 day for training and 4 days for actual field work).
Supervise the exercise through the Project MEAL Officer.
Enumerators Obligations:
The enumerators opportunities are strictly for interested applicants from the 4 indicated Districts targeted for the assessment (that is Warsheikh, Afgooye, Barawe and Jowhar Districts).
Collect data as directed by the Project Officer and forward every evening for onward transmission to CPD’s Kobo platform.
Sign the CPD code of conduct and safeguarding to ensure proper conduct while in the field.
Ensure data is collected as per the requirements of the project.
The exercise will be for 5 working days and will terminate after the collection of the targeted data.
a) Supervision:
The enumerators will be under the direct supervision of CPD’s Project Officer in charge of this project and they will be required to liaise with him in all matters pertaining to the delivery of the project objective.
Skills and Qualifications
a) Key competences, technical background, and experience required:
Ø College education in social sciences or a related field.
Ø At least some professional experience in the field of community development.
Ø Knowledge of use of telephone apps in data collection is highly desired.
Ø Fluency in English and Somali.
