1. Program management
· Ensure compliance in project implementation in accordance with quality standards, organization policies and donor policies.
· Carry out timely planning realistic planning of project activities with the support of the arche noVa Program Officer
· Generate monthly project activity reports presented to arche noVa Program manager.
· Monitor expenditures and maintain timely expenditure projections (forecasts), financial records, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements.
· Coordinate the monthly expenditures check with the financial reports submitted every month to arche noVa Nairobi Regional Office.
· Ensure all supporting documents (training reports, beneficiary training lists, beneficiary participation lists, vouchers etc) are developed follow up with the contractors.
· Keeping track of deadlines for the project’s activity implementation and informing the arche noVa Program Officer of an overview of relevant activities for effective planning and timely achievement.
2.Quality management and Impact orientation
· Oversee all aspects of the project’s implementation responsibilities for the quality of services delivered and outputs achievement in coordination with the Program Officer.
· Ensure all WASH facilities construction components meet required quality standards.
· Coordinate the design and construction of WASH and FSL facilities (e.g., boreholes, latrines, Market yards) ensuring they meet safety and quality standards.
· Ensure field visit to project sites and direct supervision of work undertaken by contractors to ensure high quality standard.
· Ensuring the project schedule is being met, timely management and reviewing of any plan discrepancies or deviations.
· Coordinate with the WASH Officers for effective community mobilization and hygiene promotion within the communities.
· Train staff to ensure effective integration and mainstreaming of disability and gender aspects into the project in liaison with the Program Officer.
· Promote the establishment of community management committees to oversee WASH/DRR and FSL facilities.
3. Coordination and Communication
· Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages innovation and accountability.
· Facilitate community meetings to gather input and ensure the project aligns with local needs.
· Ensure effective communication between the field office and the Country and regional Office.
· Ensure timely preparation and submission of reports to arche noVa in coordination with the Program Officer.
· Develop and maintain good working relationships with local authority, line ministries and constant engagement, consultations and dialogue with the communities working in the areas of project operations and implementation.
· Participate in coordination and Steering Committees meetings in arche noVa Nairobi office (physically or virtually).
· Be available to participate in arche noVa monitoring missions in all project locations using appropriate tools and instruments to collect data and information from beneficiaries and other stakeholders.
· To support the arche noVa MEAL officer in the formulation of tools and implementation of the base line, Post distribution monitoring (PDM) and Endline evaluation of the project.
· Document case studies and collect successful/human stories and pictures regarding beneficiaries and share with arche noVa Program Officer.
· Any other duties as assigned by the Program Officer or the Program Coordinator.

REPORTING RESPONSIBILITIES
· Conduct training sessions for community members and staff on WASH/DRR and FSL best practices and facility maintenance.
· Develop Project monthly, Interim and Final project reports in Coordination with Program Officer
· Monitoring mission reports including quality pictures, human interest stories, and case studies
· Country/ Project locations -specific situation analysis reports.
Skills and qualifications
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, International Relations, Environmental Science, Public Health, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
· Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing WASH/DRR projects, preferably in humanitarian and development contexts in Somalia.
· Project Management: Proven experience in project planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation within the sectors WASH, FSL, DRR in similar position in international humanitarian and/or transitional assistance contexts is key.
· At least 3 years’ professional experience, with at least 2 years’ professional experience in a similar position.
· Clear understanding of Somalia’s security context and operation dynamics (Somali Nationals Preferred)
· Knowledge of Peace, gender and inclusion is an added advantage.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL
· Strong background in Humanitarian/Development programing and International Relations is required.
· Strong understanding of WASH principles, including water supply systems, sanitation facilities, and hygiene promotion.
· Strong understanding of the Gender, Inclusion and the Triple Nexus Programming is desired.
· Demonstrated depth of experience working with Somali communities and organizations, especially focusing on gender responsive, climate change and disaster risk Management Projects.
· Extensive experience and recognized expertise in models and methods of training, facilitation and capacity building and Project Management.
· Strong experience in German donor requirements, expectations and reporting skills.
· Solid professional experiences in Somalia and or working in insecure / volatile environments
· Excellent communication capacities.
· Excellent in English and Somali (written & oral)
· Willingness to travel frequently to field locations
· Flexibility, ability to work under pressure and capacity to meet tight deadlines
PREFERRED
· Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills to inspire and guide project staff.
· Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
· Problem-solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
· Gender and Cultural Sensitivity: Awareness of and sensitivity to local gender and cultural contexts and practices.
