Overall Job Purpose:

ROLE PURPOSE:

OTP Auxiliary nurse will implement quality health and nutrition activities at the Targeted OTP sites. The Auxiliary Nurse – OTP will work with SRCS clinics to ensure that the adequate and quality management of malnutrition pregnant and lactating women, in respect to the IMAM guidelines.

Key areas of responsibilities

Ensure the clinical health and nutrition consultation of severe acute malnutrition (SAM) cases by following strictly the protocols and provide individual health and nutrition counselling, refer the case to the health facility in case of need.
Analyze deeply the health and nutrition evolution of each beneficiary and provide the systematic treatment based on the IMAM guidelines; refer the case to the health facility in case of need for additional treatment.
Participate to the forecasting and provision of the nutrition products, systematic treatment and other supplies for each site in a timely manner.
Ensure proper, clear and accurate data recording on clinical registration book and nutrition cards.
Participate to the demonstration of the preparation of the ration for each new admission of OTPs.
Ensure that all program materials are well maintained.
Check the hygiene at each stage of the OTPs distribution.
Ensure that the health education is done (good eating habits, IYCF, breastfeeding etc.)

Reporting

· Check the coherence between the medical stock report and the attendance of OTPs beneficiaries.

· Report problems encountered to the OTP in charge nurse.

Team work and collaboration:

· Work in close collaboration with the health staff in terms of screening, follow-up of defaulters.

· Propose solution to solve any problem faced and report them to the OTP in charge nurse.

· Participate actively to the weekly internal technical meetings.

Skills and Qualifications
Essential:

· Secondary certificate/Diploma in nutrition or health with minimum two years working experience with NGOs.

· Working experience of one year in IMAM program or PHC program.

· Experience in health and nutrition programs.

· Good relations with other people.

· Good capacity to work in a team and flexibility.

· Good interpersonal and communication skills

· Good writing and presentation skills

· English fluency (verbal and written) required and Somali language

· Experience working in a refugee context.
