Job Description

SOS Children’s Villages invite applications from suitably qualified and interested candidates who fulfill the eligibility criterion for the below position.

Position title : Storekeeper (8)

Reporting to : Logistic Assistant

Location : Baidoa,Berdale,Burhakaba and Qasaxdere

Job summary:

The Storekeeper is responsible for proper storage of goods, stocks movement and receipts of goods and ensures strict adherence to the set internal and global warehouse standards.

Responsibilities:

· Ensures orderly arrangement of goods, installs high security, safety and hygiene measures within the warehouse;

· Adheres strictly to FIFO, FEFO and LIFO procedures, registers the customs status, expiry dates, serial number, and manufacturers;

· To ensure that the stock cards, waybills details are recorded correctly

· To ensure the main store/ ware house is left clean and tidy

· Ensures proper stock control by keeping up to date records of deliveries, order preparations, losses, and expired goods;

· Ensure proper and well documented stock movements; transmits the information related to the cargo

· Manifest to the dispatch and produces the documents related to the orders, these will include packing list and export license;

· Ensure goods to be dispatched are correctly labelled and the necessary documentation accompanies the shipment;

· Receives and checks the deliveries from suppliers and transport agents;

· Maintains regular communication with external contacts; handling agencies, transport agencies, imports and exports related authorities and NGOs;

· Generates timely and accurate reports;

· Ensures proper records management within the department

Skills and Qualifications
Job competencies:

Essential

· Diploma in Purchasing & Supply Management or Stores Management

· At least two (2) years’ work experience in a similar field

· Fluency in written and spoken English

· Understanding of the local context

· Excellent planning skills

· A mature person of high professional discipline and moral integrity,

· Proficiency in Microsoft Suite

· Strong numerical ability
